OH ME, OH MY, NEW BUS! |
| |
A
few weeks ago we were on our way to Caledonia, Michigan
when our original bus blew a newly rebuilt engine with
less than 1700 miles. We were just north of Evansville,
Indiana so I called my good friend Mike Meyer of the Conquerors
Quartet. Mike was good enough to bring his bus to us and
we made the rest of our trip in the Conquerors bus. Thanks
Mike!
Ole Earl had only been used a few times when the new engine
failed. The original rebuild we did late last fall cost
a lot of money, and now it looks as though we will be
out that much or more all over again. In the interim we
took a leap of faith and purchased Joel Hemphill's bus
shown above. For us, this is a huge undertaking. We felt
that to continue our ministry we had to have reliable
transportation. The expense of the new bus, insurance,
taxes, and getting the old one repaired, ready to sell
has taken a huge toll on both our finances and our frayed
nerves. Pray for us please. We need your help!

TOUGH TIMES |
| |
Many
wonderful people we have met have been so very supportive
of our ministry. We wouldn't know where to start to thank
all of you. And now, for the first time in our group's
history, we face a tall mountain to climb. Unwarranted
bus repairs have really squeezed our resources thin. This
year we need your help. If you would like information
on supporting our ministry you may contact Charles at
270-965-9165. To He who owns the cattle on a thousand
hills, all is possible. Pray for our group that we may
always follow His leadership and be good stewards of the
resources He entrusts to Southern Sound. |

YOUR CHURCH OR CONCERT |
| |
If
you would like to schedule Southern Sound, please call
Charles at 270-965-9165, or our Nashville office. We have
a few open dates left in 2004 and we are taking bookings
for 2005 and beyond. We can also add your name to our
newsletter. Just send us your name address and phone number.
Since our membership has skyrocketed, so too have our
costs. Would you help us defer those costs by sending
a $5.00 donation per year subscription to help with the
spiraling costs of printing and postage? Thank you! |

| NEW RECORDING PROJECT |
|
| We
are looking for new songs for an upcoming recording project
tentatively slated for the fall of this year. If you have
written a song or know of one you would like to hear us
record, send it to us! We're always looking for new material.

| FARES AVENUE BAPTIST! |
|
| Recently
we sang at Fares Avenue Baptist in Evansville, IN. What
a great time in the Lord we had there. Rev. and Mrs. Jim
Johnson are always gracious hosts and do so much in promoting
Southern Gospel Music in their area. Also, Mike and Joyce
Meyer, and son Chris & daughter-in-law Amber attended
the singing, along with Charlie and Dottie Drennan from
the Conquerors Quartet. In addition, Peggy and Lyndal
Riggs of the Vocalystics were in the audience too. You
folks mean so much to SSQ. Seeing you in the audience
when we are in your area is such an honor. Thank you so
much. We love all you folks. |
